Swingarm

To improve the geometry of a cross quad, we developed an aluminium swingarm. This swingarm not only reduces weight by 1.5 kilograms but also enhances the overall geometry of the vehicle. The use of aluminium makes the swingarm more flexible, providing better contact with the track. This development was necessary because the previous swingarm, made of steel and connected by welds, frequently cracked. As a result, it often could not last an entire season, posing a risk of unexpected failure during a race.

Machining of the swingarm

The machining of the aluminium swingarm for cross quads is a precision-intensive process that combines advanced techniques to ensure the highest performance and durability. The swingarm, crucial to the geometry and handling of the vehicle, undergoes several key machining steps to achieve the ideal shape and strength. The choice of high-quality aluminium allows for a lightweight yet strong component that enhances the overall quad performance. The material's flexibility provides improved contact with the cross track, offering better stability and handling during races. To achieve the required geometry, the swingarm is subjected to CNC milling and turning. These processes allow for the precise shaping of the aluminium, ensuring that all critical dimensions are met.
