On-Site Machining and Repairs for TorusDisc

Dalvoorde Techniek successfully carried out a complex repair on a jacketed disc dryer as well named, paddle dryer / reactor. The installation of this large piece of machinery, used in the PET secialty polymer industry, required machining and adjustments on site. This resulted in cost and time savings for the customer.

On-Site Line Boring to Resurface Sealing Areas

Resurfacing the rotor's sealing surface was completed without removing the rotor from the machine. This approach saved significant time and costs, as removing the rotor would have required a complex operation to lift it 30 meters out of the building. Using advanced mobile machining techniques, also known as on-site line boring, we successfully addressed this challenge on location.

Replacement and Optimization of Flexatallic Sealing Gasket

During the overhaul, the old gasket was replaced with a high-quality Flexatallic gasket. In our workshop in Nijverdal, The Netherlands, we precisely adjusted the adapter’s gasket depth using the Style lathe, ensuring the adapter fully met the strict specifications of the new gasket.

In addition to replacing the gasket, several other components, including bolts and nuts, were renewed. After all the necessary adjustments, the TorusDisc machine successfully passed multiple thorough tests. The reactor was then restored to full operation for 24/7 production, with results that both the client and we are very satisfied with.
